In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. The names, the sad poetry, quotes and expression of grief of the loved ones all being ground to dust. "...We always say that the history of a parish is in its graveyards..." Joseph Benson Camphor 1917-1991
In Everlasting Memory
of
JOSEPH BENSON CAMPHOR
BORN 17TH SEPTEMBER 1917
DIED 12TH JANUARY 1991
Joseph was the brother of John Camphor, a former headmaster of St Joseph's School, renamed Cathedral Sr Secondary School, who later moved to St Francis' College, Lucknow. John passed away a few years later. John has two unmarried daughters.
I couldn't ignore the Month's Mind
cards I have come across at home
because, in most of these cases, it's
highly unlikely I'd be able to locate
these graves. Locating burial registers
is next to impossible.
