In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. The names, the sad poetry, quotes and expression of grief of the loved ones all being ground to dust.
"...We always say that the history of a parish is in its graveyards..." Passage West (from a blog and book by Jim Murphy)

Those look like the new headstones erected by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (October 3, 2016)
Dear Mr George Shepherd, Thank you for the amazing work you do, discovering old graves and headstones. I am interested in the grave of RICHARD ROSE 1838-1896 ( he died 25th August 1896). His grave is said to be in Lair 9 Plot XVI in this cemetery. May I request you to search for this grave when next you visit Kanpur? Richard Rose was the Deputy Postmaster General of Oudh in British India times. Thank you very much for your help. Mrs Girija Viraraghavan. My email is veerugij9517@gmail.com
Dear Sir, You can find details of the grave of Richard Rose, and others in the Lal Kurti cemetery, on the FIBIS website - see database https://fibis.ourarchives.online/bin/aps_detail.php?id=1639121
