         IN LOVING MEMORY OF
   ALLAN RICHARD BAKER
       BORN 11TH SEPT 1947
       DIED 22 DEC 2000
He is survived by his wife Arzoo and son, Brendon
and a younger brother, Neville, in Australia

Allan, who was Principal, Barns School, Devlali, Maharashtra
when he passed away, was from an Allahabad family and had studied in La Martiniere College, Lucknow where he returned in 1969 to teach for the next 10 years. He was an all-round sportsman but his flair for hockey was believed, by those in the know, to be something he inherited from his father who tragically died in and industrial accident at an early age. His sense of fair play and honesty showed when, in an unusual (for LMC) reshuffle, he was transferred  from Hodson House to Cornwallis House on the day that the two teams faced off on the hockey field. Cornwallis beat Hodson!!
