(This morning, Mon July 11, 2016, I went for a walk to the Botanical Gardens in Lucknow and noticed a covered enclosure for plants called the 'Percy Lancaster House' which prompted me to google Percy Lancaster. From Fibis.org and Wikipedia.org I found that he worked for the Provincial Bank of India. He married Ida Gordon Blunt at Fatehgarh in 1885. He was the Secretary, Agri-Horticultural Society, Alipore (Calcutta) where he died in 1904. His son was Sydney Percy Lancaster who was an apprentice with the Society.
I had photographed the grave of William Robert Lancaster two years ago and wondered whether there was a connection, but found no connection. I also found that I had missed this grave and not uploaded it to my blog. Wikipedia records that Sydney Percy Lancaster spent his last years in Lucknow after returning from Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia.
I wasn't able to get any info on William Robert Lancaster?

I never got to know her first name. I

Vanishing graves!

This plot with plenty empty space has graves from the 1940's '50's, '60's
and a few from the early 1970's. I am a regular visitor here yet I am
  amazed by the way graves just vanish without me evening noticing!
 India, like countries in Europe,
where land is in short supply, no more land is being provided for burials.
The picture has been taken diagonally
so the plot to the left half of the pic, beyond the trees, is the plot
with a few graves from the 1960's, '70's and some from the 1980's.

 I don't remember these black stone graves so I cannot
say whether they are being redone. This plot was filled up
starting from the 1990's replacing those from the 1920's and
there weren't any empty spaces till a few months ago!
