MRS MYRTLE SHUKLA P3 G 469 Graves side by side |
In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. The names, the sad poetry, quotes and expression of grief of the loved ones all being ground to dust. "...We always say that the history of a parish is in its graveyards..." Hello George,
ReplyDeleteYour efforts on recording graves from Nishatganj is praiseworthy, especially for those interested in genealogy.
Regarding Julian O.N. Shukla, he was probably awarded the Indian title of "Rai Sahib" by the British Raj in June 1931 while working as a deputy collector in the United Provinces. The Gazette stating this award has his name recorded as "Julian Nathan Shukla". Hopefully may be the same person !
