The Cooke family's connection to Gonda
and the railways goes back 100 years
at the very least. Capt Robert Cooke,

a friend of this blogger, said he wasn't
aware of Millicent but said she must
have been an elder sibling to his
father, Henry and brothers Donald
and Malcolm. Henry a retired NER guard
died in Lucknow in 1999. Robert also said
his maternal grandparents, the Ollivers and
paternal grand parents died in Gonda. Sadly,
there is no sign of their graves. Robert's
mother Ida Cooke (nee Olliver) died in
Lucknow in 2003. Ida's mother was
a De Castro.
