Originally from Madurai, South India, the
 Doyle family lived many years in Lucknow.
Marie, a teacher by profession was a
spinster and lover of street dogs.
Tragically, she was killed by a 
hit and run driver. Among her life-long
friends who shared their love for
canines was Mavis Val Deremao, who
died in 2006 which was sometime
before Marie's death.
