| Pic of Ruby Murphy taken at the time of her daughter, Annette's marriage to Keith Edwardes in 1948 (Pic courtesy John Cline) * Message from John Cline: Aunt Ruby [married name Murphy as my Mum [Cynthia Cline] referred to her, Dicky Ward's mother [Aunt Totty] and Mum's grandmother Louisa Baker, were sisters. There mother, Sarah, died in Saharanpur, India. All three sisters are buried at the Nishatganj Cemetery, Lucknow. Aunt Ruby had two daughters, Annette and Heather and one son, affectionately known as Bang Bang Murphy because of his fetish for cowboy dress [he died in the UK]. Heather died in Dehra Dun, India and Annette in Australia. Annette had only a daughter, Alison Painter (nee Edwardes) who passed on early November, 2015. |
Allison Edwards grandmother. Aunt Ruby to my mother. Ruby's sister - Louisa Frederica Baker [my maternal great grand mother, know to me as "Pussycat Nana' and old Lawrence Terrace resident] died 1950 - is buried nearby. I saw her grave in 1976 [it has a modest and very small strip of concrete with her name]
