In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. The names, the sad poetry, quotes and expression of grief of the loved ones all being ground to dust.
"...We always say that the history of a parish is in its graveyards..." Passage West (from a blog and book by Jim Murphy)

Dr Emmanuel Saniel Francis died 1945
In Loving Memory of DR EMMANUEL SANIEL FRANCIS DIED MARCH 24TH 1945 AT THE AGE OF 58 YEARS
Just as I am thy love unknown, Has broken every barrier down; Now to be thine, Yea hine alone O Lamb of God I come.
I understand he originated from Allahabad but came to work at the Medical Centre in Lucknow, and that he was a surgeon there - but very little other information. He died when my father was but a teenager, and being an only child, we've never been able to track down any relatives either. Any advice appreciated. Thx
I think this is the grave of my grandfather - we never knew him or much about him - but this is really exciting to see a picture of his grave
