In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. The names, the sad poetry, quotes and expression of grief of the loved ones all being ground to dust. "...We always say that the history of a parish is in its graveyards..." Hi Arun,
DeleteThank you for the dates you have provided. I often have to rely on memory. Is it possible for you to provide me with a photo of Herbert and Lorna's graves or memorial if there is one. Also Fr Anthony (Leslie Jacob) if he was buried in the same cemetery. Being your Nana's cousin, he was a weekly visitor at their place till May 1970 when the left Lucknow.
Thanks
Hi George - sorry I only just noticed this. Yes, will get for you. Please send me your email address. Not sure about Fr Anthony but will ask.
ReplyDeleteOh good Arun! Time permitting, let me know how your parents and the rest of the family are. Cedric isn't very communicative though he does appear on facebook from time to time.
