In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. The names, the sad poetry, quotes and expression of grief of the loved ones all being ground to dust.

Rai Bahadur Albert Nathan Shukla 1888-1950
Sacred to the Memory of RAI BAHADUR ALBERT NATHAN SHUKLA BELOVED HUSBAND AND PARENT BORN MARCH 13, 1888 DIED AUGUST 13, 1950 * THY WILL BE DONE
As concerning Albert Nathan Shukla, he was first bestowed the Indian title of "Rai Sahib" by British Raj in June 1938, while working as a deputy collector in the United Provinces. Almost 4.5 years later, he was promoted to the title of "Rai Bahadur" in Jan 1943, when he was an additional collector and additional district magistrate in Lucknow.
