Nishatganj Cemetery, Lucknow

The pictures are of the area just to the left on entering and judging from the dates on the graves that have survived till now, the cemetery must have opened in the 1870's.

There was order here way back, neat rows
with space in between to walk. Much of
the ornamentation was untouched till two
decades ago. Today most almost all of the crosses, angels and cherubs have vanished! No iron work, chains etc has
survived!
I would really like to know where all the
marble goes and who all profit. The burial board has members from all main Christian churches but I have yet to meet even one member taking stock of the situation.
Yesterday (Feb 23, 2015) while photographing graves I came across one
spot reserved for five years by Rev Subhan for himself and wondered whether he is exempt from paying the stipulated fee!
