In Lucknow, as in other parts of the world, graves mean little to some people, but a search on the internet proves otherwise! What one will find on this blog isn't even 'a drop in the vast ocean' of tears that would have been shed if it were possible to calculate. Bailey Guard Cemetery as good as can ever be!

Monday, May 4, 2015: I had visited the Bailey Guard Cemetery (1858) several weeks ago and found that the Archaeological Survey of India had commissioned the repair of these monuments. Being in the area again I checked and found the work
was over and there was a permanent guy there to take care of the cemetery.
Sadly, only one grave, that of an infant Isabel Durand, still has its inscription!
