THE LORD HATH CLAIMED HER FOR HIS OWN
AND SENT HER CALM RELEASE
WE WEEP, BUT IT IS WE ALONE
SHE DWELLS IN PERFECT PEACE

Caroline Davis nee Battenburgh was formerly married to Robert Parnham a sergeant in the EIC Artillery. They had three children, one son, John Lawford Parnham and two daughters. Her husband died in Cawnpore in 1846. The fibis.org record shows that a minor daughter, Adelaide Ann C., died at Benares in 1843.
Caroline was the daughter of Gerard Battenburgh and Elizabeth of Agra where she was born.
